Joyeux Noël - Merry Christmas on the 24th and 25th of december 1914.

Yesterday morning just after I woke up I turned the TV and whilst watching it said about a film that would appear later on in the day about the Christmas truce in 1914. Now when I heard I was a litle sceptic, I thought it might be a bit of a boring film out of touch with its audience glorifying the first wirld war and so I was pleasently surprised when it came on for it was the opposite of what I imagined. It was a beuatiful, thought-proviking mesmorisng film and I would really recommend it to anybody. I'm going to take a quote from a comment on youtube about the film because it is basically what I want so say but can;t find the words for.

I don't think there'll ever be another movie so touching, so simple...this movie is a league of it's own, and there's a lesson to be learned from it.

If you have not seen this film I recommend it to you.

The Brilliance of French Bread

Well I've just been gorging myself on some french bread and it got me thinking about it. French bread is so great, its hard outer-shell with the soft inside and its perfect with cheese or egg mayo or anything else really you want to put inside.

Now look at that French bread and tell me you don't want to pick up a margerine or butter coated knife, spread it and eat it. It's just unbelievably good.

Unfortunately I haven't "real" french bread from France since June and you can really tell the difference. One of the main reasons is a fantastic food law that they have over in France:

French food laws define bread as a product containing only the following four ingredients: water, flour, yeast, and common salt. The addition of any other ingredient to the basic recipe requires the baker to use a different name for the final product.

Isn't that law amazing? I think it is. You know that your bread doesn't have any preservatives in and you know what you're getting!

A few thoughts on forums

Hey everyone,

For the past month or so I've been hooked on a forum called Teenhut. I never used to be a big fan of forums as I always seemed to shy away fro posting and didn't see the point in joining any if I wouldn't post. My view has changed however.

Now at the end of October I joined this forum and again I was a little shy about posting but then I realised that I shouldn't be afraid as it was over the internet. I could easily just stop going to the forum if I found it uncomfortable posting. I started posting and soon became hooked.

I've found forums a really great medium to express myself without fearing what people think of me because like I said, it's the internet and I can easily stop going to the forums if I don't like what I read.

Well there we go, a bit of a random post but oh well. Check out the forum if you want.

A video about the situation in Palestine

I found this video on youtube and thought it was really good at showing what is going on in Palestine.

A slideshow of images showing fun times from the last year

I just wanted to post up a little slideshow of some fun times.

I

Greetings!

Hello everybody!

Well seing as this is my first post in this blog I'm going to introduce myself.

My name is Tom and I'm 15. I live in Northampton, a town in the midlands of England. I am in the final year of my GCSEs taking English Language and Literature, Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, French, CiDA (Certificate in Digital Applications), Statistics and Music.

I have a vibrant family life that can seem a little confusing. My parents are divorced and I'm split between both houses because of School. I live with my dad and his girlfriend and her children during the school week and for most weekends and school holidays I live with my mum, her fiancé, my half-brother and my sister. My other sister is at University.

I have a lot of things going on in my life and a lot of thoughts, opinions and just ... well stuff that I need to write down to clear from my mind and I'm hoping to have an audience to read some of it.

Well that's a tiny bit about me, I'm sure I'll write something else soon - probably tonight in fact as I have nothing else on.

Good bye!
